Pastor’s Weekly Update

Peace be with you, my friends.
During Lent, the three acts in which the Church most commonly engages are praying, fasting, and charity. The first and last of these are ones in which many Christians practice. However, it is a sad reality that we live during a time when many have neglected the practice of fasting. In fact, many congregations have either neglected the teaching of this important discipline or outright have spoken against its practice.
This is why it is so important to journey through the fullness of Lent. In Lent, we fast. The challenge, for many of us, is in understanding why we fast. For by understanding why we fast, it will lead us to the right attitude and action of fasting. Therefore, this upcoming Sunday, as we continue our Lenten sermon series on the Spiritual Disciplines of the Christian Life, we shall explore both the importance of and the reason for fasting.
You can prepare for the service by reading Matt. 6: 17.
I hope to see you there and, if you are able to attend it, I pray that God richly bless you during the service.
As always, if you are unable to attend, you can livestream our service right here at 11am.
