The following was submitted by Lee Hook – Chairperson of Missions
Being chairperson of Missions is a very rewarding position to have in church. The position is seeing different projects that United Women in Faith work on, plus the congregation as a whole. My favorite is Project Christmas for our Seniors. The congregation buys different items for seniors for Christmas. Items are placed in Christmas bags and delivered to the Office of the Aging. They in turn have drivers from Meals on Wheels deliver the Christmas bags.
We have different projects we work on throughout the year. With Missions, it’s all hands on deck. When anyone of United Women in Faith or the congregation brings up a project for us to work on, we all work on it to achieve the mission. We’re the eyes and ears of the community. Everyone is encouraged if you see a need in our community or other communities, to let us know, so we can meet these needs. I know we can’t do everything, but I believe that God shows us what missions we can do, and God supplies us with everything we need. It’s rewarding for our community and very rewarding to all of us, as we work as a team.
